A Little Gypsy in All Of Us

How has your week been going? I have been so busy finishing up a swap or two, including a needle felting class over at  Roses on My Table  given by the talented Needle Felting Artist Judy Johnson. Later in the week I will post pic's on my other blog of my felted bunny. Before I start new classes I thought I would show you my latest Tags created for the upcoming swap Gypsies and Fortune Tellers at Roses. Have a great  creative week!

What's New In Your Neck of the Woods?

Lately I have been catching upon what seems like a zillion projects! I spent a full week creating a 12 x 12 scrapbook for my brother which included removing all the pic's and misc items from one of those "old school" scrapbooks from the 1970s that had the sticky, yucky stuff on the pages as those are not Acid Free and will suck the life out of your pic's over a period of time, especially color pic's. Well 31  pages later in his new 12 x 12 book they are saved! I'm putting this away for a Christmas or birthday present for this year.
Now for the fun stuff I created a few ATC's for a current swap coming up and a mixed media  journal page that I used as a intro page in the photo album. It was a vintage family pic of relatives which I turned into a "family tree". Quite fun, the leaves of the tree are instant oatmeal, the roots are scrim all scrunched up with matte medium as an adhesive and then painted, then a coat of wax applied. This was fun of the messy kind!
Have a great weekend! I'm off to finish another project and start a couple of new ones, finishing a needle felted bunny and starting a little art doll  class over at Paper Whimsey.

A Song For 20 Angels A Newtown Tribute

Hi there fellow bloggers and friends. I hope you are having a creative fun filled week. Today I'm sharing one of my most recent creations with wax, and it has special meaning to me. I will be keeping this piece in my collection remembering how we were all affected that tragic day. This will have a fabric backround and some other elements to create a wall hanging.  I'll post again when finished. This is one of my most favorite areas to create in, fabric, images and wax. I can't wait to see what is around the next creative corner! How about you?

Dolly and Doily in Blue

Sharing a bit of love of the ole' Paper Dollies, Here are the paper dolls I created for my most recent swap for the Le Papier Dolls Group over at Roses. This is Edith in blue, named after my maternal Grandmother and this is Alice named after her first born child who only live to the age of one year as she had some thing wrong with her heart as the story goes. We sure have improved in the age of medicine since  the  late 1800's. Can you imagine if we hadn't? Have a great weekend and until the next time,
