And The Clock Ticks....
Here is my finished piece and final one for 2011 from one of my groups over at Roses. Madonna and Child Shrine. I covered it with a crackle glaze and it is still crackling and when it is completely finished I will be adding a bit of antiquing to the cracked part. A very fun project and I thought I would share my final piece for this year. Happy New Year everyone, Happy Creating in 2012!

Winding Down from Christmas
Since I haven't done a post recently I thought I should share what I have been up to other than Christmas, family and shopping. This is my first Matchbox Art Challenge for a group I belong to over at Roses a Mixed Media Art group. Each month there are challenges with a theme and deadline of which to finish. One group is solely mini matchboxes and shrines. I created mine with Angels on each side and the Nativity in the center, making a Christmas ornament. I still have a shrine to finish by the 30th so I best get busy. See ya'all soon!

Happy Holidays everyone, I know you are all getting ready for Christmas like busy little Elves! I know I am but I wanted to share a creation I made for the Kindred Spirits Group over at Roses On My Table a group I belong to. This is a mixed media piece on chip board I created and that is about all I have had the time to work on recently. I hope you are all enjoying getting ready for the holidays and enjoyed your Thanksgiving, so until I have something that you might enjoy I send you Love and Blessings.

"Lulu's Loves Vintage" Fabric and Photos
This is a page from my Fabric collage book and these are the parents of the children on the front cover, my Grandparents. I am my worst critic since it is driving me crazy that the fabric transfer photo puckered on the left side. If I can figure out how to fix it without destroying the page I will, until then this is it. Next time I will know to place a piece of cardboard/chipboard underneath to help it lay flat, but since I didn't realize this was going to happen as this is my first book of this nature, always learning and living with our imperfections. I guess I need to overcome that. Today I'm linking up with Honey of 2805 Potpourri Friday and would like to give her a big "Thank You" for having me as one of her featured bloggers today. I'm humbled and honored to be chosen, Hugs Honey and thanks again.:)

Lovin' Vintage Photos
I just finished the front cover of the fabric Family Photo Album from the class I took in Huntington Beach with the talented and wonderful teacher KC Willis and I'm loving playing in fabrics and old family photos. This photo was taken about 1911 which makes it 100 years old, Wow! On the left is my Aunt Vera, center my Uncle Vincent and right my sweet mother Violet, and apparently a new baby would have been born after which would have been my Uncle Victor. This pic was transfered onto fabric and I have the original. I think my Mom is the cutest, even though she is my Mom! This album is intended to be a family heirloom of course and I will be finished in about a week so more wonderful pics are coming. Today I'm joining Honey at with Honey 2805 blog party and Debra at A Common Ground .

We love you KC, thanks for a wonderful class! |
The table of wonderful fabrics available to us, wish I had taken more pic's! |
My very First Retreat was absolutely wonderful and we had a ball! Sunday, Oct. 30th and Mon. Oct. 31st KC Willis was teaching in Huntington Beach, not to far from where I live and I was able to attend her Saturday Collage Camp Class with Hand tinted photos which was a bonus. KC also has online workshops which I have drooled over for a long time and was on my "to do" list. When Susie of Vintage Susie and Wings blogged about it and let it be known where the class was held, well needless to say I was right on it and signed up. I have to say I love KC's work and learned so much as I have always love old and vintage photos and fabrics, just throw in some lace and I'm right at home. I also attend KC's the Sunday Class which was her Mixed Media Book Workshop. That will be another post since I still have the embellishments and words to add before I'm completed. I love that I had many old family photographs of relatives and I used all of those in my work which made it really special. Thank You KC for a wonderful class, anytime you are in town teaching I will be there!

A Little Fun Creating Here and There!
These are my most recent creations as I have been busy re-doing my Family room/studio and these were created during down time during the re-do. Both were for Giveaways. My bottle Art went to a swap, "French Inspiration Swap"and the journal was created as a Gift for my last Giveaway on my Lulu's Lovlies Personal blog. The bottle was four sided and a lot of wrk but I couldn't resist the temptation and had to do all 4 sides. I guess it will be fun to change it around from time to time. As far as the journal I created a pocket on the inside of the cover for notes and thoughts, ect. Both were fun and now I need to get back to finishing up a few other projects and enjoying my new space as I sort and organize. Have a wonderful and creative week! Looking forward to Fall and all the Fun Spooky stuff out there.....

Introducing The "Countessa de la Whimssicale" of France
My Pierre accused me of being a Cougar and I found I had been thrown over a younger woman, when I assumed I had a date for thee Opera, I have decided I don't need that cad after all and I'm hoping to encounter a gentlemen of more means, might there be any out there?? I think I still have a few more years in me my dear...... what a scoundrel he was, meanwhile I shall go Dancin' with my" Happy Feet" I keep you posted when new suitors occur, Until then...... Good Evening my friends! My first attempt at working with Paper Clay in a class held at the Artful Gathering given by Christy Meyers of "CC Whimsies" and I had a lot of fun. I would like to work more with paper clay to improve and create in my own style or vision down the line and mainly for my own pleasure. It is rewarding and fun to learn something totally new and not like anything I have ever done before. I just love trying new things in all areas of my life as it to me is an "adventure" in creativity, some I may like and some not but will always apply what I learn in other areas of my creations and already have many ideas for this medium. More to be explored and practiced, what fun!
Hats, hats, I love to Try on New Hats!
I love to try out new things, Yes I'm a wearer of many hats and have been all my life, daughter, sister, best friend, wife, Mother, Grandmother, employee, manager, student, artist and probably more that haven't even occurred to me. New hats are fun and learning how to create something totally different and the process of learning is like a breath of fresh air to me. I had a great time at the Artful Gathering and re-visited paper and fabrics in a whole new way and yes more.... many friendships were made and the whole process was very refreshing. I hope to keep growing and learning all the days of my life. Here is a "New Hat" and a new creative journey to explore. Life is Grand!

"ALTERED ART BOOK" created at The Artful Gathering
These classes are way too much fun. Here are pages and the book cover I created in the class "A Textured Life" using different techniques and products to produce or create special effects with your Art. I have learned so much about which products to use and how to create that special look you want when working with papers, fabrics, paints within a collage and how many other areas it can be used in what ever you create. This is a really fun class!
